A Nano That Doesn't Make Me Want to Bludgeon My Ears?

Move over little miss Mini Cooper and your uber cuteness. Recently in India, Tata Motors (yeah, I know, I never heard of em either) have unveiled the "world's cheapest car," the Tata Nano. Costing a mere $2,500 (or about 100,000 rupees or whatever cool currency that will eventually eclipse our dollar), the Tata Nano tops out at 33 horsepower racing at a top speed of 65 miles per hour.

Okay, so you're not exactly going to be winning any drag racing events on the Clearview Expressway anytime soon, but for $2,500, a fairly sized vehicle like a Nano doesn't sound too bad. (Though like many modern car names, it's a terrible name. Can only imagine the "listening to my Nano in my Nano" puns...)

Well, except for the whole fiery violent protest over manipulation of innocent people and valuable farmland for auto plant usage thing. Betcha if it were a hybrid, people wouldn't be so pissed.
