Gavin & Stacey

Not as cringe inducingly fun as the UK Office or my beloved Spaced, Gavin & Stacey is a more conventional British comedy that focuses on the little idiosyncrasies of young love, marriage, friendships and all that good stuff cynical love hating lovers of love like myself enjoy.

It's cute, but not forced-Friends-I'd-like-to-kill-in-their-coffee-shop-cute, and it's great to see the best friends played by average looking real people (who happen to be co-writer/creators of the show Ruth Jones and James Corden). The friends, parents and extended families members are pure gold, especially Gavin's mum Pam (played by Alison Steadman) and Stacey's wholesome, and possibly sexually repressed homosexual Uncle Bryn (Rob Brydon of A Cock and Bull Story fame).

All in all, it's a satisfying show to warm the cockles of your cold, cold heart. Enjoy it before we Americans take it and bastardize the hell out of it. Oops...too late. Assholes.
